Summer Reading Club for Young Adults

The North Merrick Public Library is encouraging all young adults (grades 7 and up) to participate in the New York State Library’s statewide summer reading program, Y.N.K. (You Never Know @ the Library.) Throughout the summer the library will be hosting a number of programs and events for S.R.C. participants. Weekly raffles and other prizes will be given out throughout the summer. Registration now taking place! 

  

Community Service Opportunities

Teen Advisory Board

The T.A.B will meet throughout the summer to plan programs and assist with Summer Reading Club events and various other activities. All North Merrick residents entering grades 7 – 12 are encouraged to join. Additional dates and times will be announced throughout the summer. Dates: July 16th, July 23rd,   August 6th and August 20th  Time: 4:00 – 5:30 pm

Teens  and Tots Storytime

Teens and Tots is a program in which teens will be reading and conducting simple crafts with children entering Kindergarten through third grade. Community Service Credits will be awarded. Participants must be entering grades 7—12,  be able to attend at least 2 sessions and must attend one of the following training sessions: June 14th or July 9th from 3:45 – 4:45 pm.

Teens and Tots  will meet on the following Thursday Afternoons from 2:30 – 3:30: July 12th, 19th & 26th, August 2nd, 9th, 16th &  23rd
